The job description: Main challenges in this position (or company/division/BU): (List the 4-5 biggest challenges business-wise, organisational, cultural etc.) To continuously train every employee on defined EHS guidelines To ensure safety among all Employees through collaboration with production and engineering To ensure all statutory requirements related to EHS adhered to. Ensure EHS documentation are up to date and meets the EHS standard requirements. Responsibility and mandate: (Main responsibilities in terms of budget, personnel, process etc.) Perform Hazard identification and evaluation of Risk covering all areas Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace Compile, analyze, interpret and report incidents and accidents, loss, Prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards. Train all employees on the Emergency preparedness and response through periodic mock drills Formation of ERT team and Sub Safety Committee team and ensure effective capturing of unsafe conditions and unsafe acts Perform periodic audits at ware house and train the employees on Safety practices and procedures to be followed as per Stacking, storage and MHEs. Establish Documentation related to EHS management system in line with the Systems already available in Factory. Work in collaboration with Legal team and Sales team on environment friendly way of collection and disposal of packaging wastes. Main tasks and/or projects: (The most important tasks and projects that this person will be working on and held accountable for) To facilitate working of safety committee and ensure Fire Fighters and First Aid responders are fully geared up and trained. Achieve EHS objectives as per ORKLA specified standards. Manage and coordinate training programs w.r.t. EHS in the organization. Help in building a culture of Safety within the organization. Criteria for evaluation: (Financial results, improvements in the org., development of employees etc) No. of Accidents category wise Environmental issues handled and rectified Effectiveness of EHS trainings conducted Change initiatives executed. 100% EHS statutory compliances Education Graduate with a Diploma in Industrial Safety from Govt. recognised university Experience (Functional area, type of position/work, products, markets, international etc.) 3+ years of experience in manufacturing industry with workforce of minimum 500 Must have knowledge or training in the following: occupational health, safety and environmental compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Must have good knowledge on ISO 14001 and 45001 documentation and Ability to implement, and coordinate comprehensive health and safety accident prevention programs.
