As a supervisor of maintenance activities for facilities and infrastructures within a hardware manufacturing plant or site, your responsibilities will include collaborating with engineers, partners, and suppliers to achieve business objectives while adhering to sustainable facility usage and budget requirements. Constructing and leading an efficient facility maintenance team, organizing training sessions to ensure high-quality performance, evaluating the operation's efficiency with existing utilities and equipment, providing solutions to challenges and risks, overseeing inspections, repairs, and updates of facilities and relevant operational activities, as well as maintaining order within the facility will be key aspects of your role. Degree Requirement: A degree or equivalent experience is desired. Skill Descriptors: Budgeting: - Working Knowledge level: - Applying established organizational practices in budgeting. - Producing budget reports of planned vs. actual expenses with variances explained under guidance. - Supplying supporting information and justifications for major line items. - Documenting capital appropriations and project authorizations. - Using budgeting and charge-back practices within your area. Effectiveness Measurement: - Working Knowledge level: - Reporting measurement results to management in an actionable form under guidance. - Interpreting and analyzing results vs. established benchmarks. - Establishing short-range and long-range improvement goals for your function. - Developing action plans to achieve improvement goals. - Using assigned measurements for your function or specialization. Problem Solving: - Working Knowledge level: - Identifying and documenting specific problems and resolution alternatives. - Understanding the perspective of each involved stakeholder in examining a specific problem. - Developing alternative techniques for assessing the accuracy and relevance of information. - Analyzing risks and benefits of alternative approaches. - Using fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems. Manufacturing Application Systems: - Working Knowledge level: - Using and maintaining information or data stored in specific applications. - Documenting major interfaces and dependencies to and from other systems. - Following procedures for maintaining and updating databases. - Using all basic features of the information system in the context of your work. - Working with a specific type of manufacturing application or information system. Manufacturing Equipment: - Working Knowledge level: - Performing routine maintenance tasks. - Ensuring basic care and safety considerations for manufacturing equipment. - Participating in setting up new machines and testing according to specifications. - Using standard diagnostic tools and techniques. - Conducting routine inspections and reporting standards violations. Manufacturing Standards, Procedures, and Policies: - Working Knowledge level: - Contributing to the development and implementation of specific manufacturing procedures. - Explaining the rationale for procedures and standards in your area of responsibility. - Implementing manufacturing standards and procedures within your function. - Providing feedback for the improvement of procedures. Plant Facilities Management: - Extensive Experience level: - Working with the installation, maintenance, and upkeep of large or multiple facilities. - Monitoring environmental, safety, and equipment requirements and conditions. - Participating in the development of change, contingency, and back-up plans. - Managing space planning processes and establishing requirements for staff and equipment. - Monitoring processes and procedures for building security compliance. Supplier Management - MFG: - Working Knowledge level: - Following procedures in carrying out routine supplier management tasks. - Using electronic systems or tools for supplier information and transactions. - Resolving routine supplier issues and escalating non-routine ones. - Researching alternative vendors and participating in supplier selection. - Ensuring purchases meet delivery date and quality specifications with suppliers.
