We are developing next-generation biodegradable materials as alternatives to Styrofoam and plastics. Our mission is to combine biotechnology and engineering to create eco-friendly products that scale globally. Role Overview We are hiring a full-time Research and Development Scientist to join our core technical team in Navi Mumbai. This is a hands-on laboratory role focused on microbial/fungal R&D, substrate formulation, and prototyping of biodegradable materials. Key Responsibilities Conduct research on microbial/fungal growth and substrate optimization Perform aseptic techniques and sterilisation (e.g., autoclave) for lab-scale experiments Develop and maintain SOPs and lab documentation Support quality testing of material properties (strength, durability, moisture resistance) Contribute to process optimisation and early-stage scale-up initiatives Collaborate with the engineering team on automation and efficiency improvements Requirements (Must-Have) B.Sc./B.Tech/M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Biochemical Engineering 1–5 years of hands-on experience with microbial or fungal cultures Proficiency in aseptic techniques and sterilisation methods Authorised to work in India and available for on-site work in Navi Mumbai Preferred (Good-to-Have) Experience in growth media/substrate optimisation Exposure to biomaterials, process engineering, or QA/QC Strong interest in sustainability and industrial applications What We Offer Opportunity to be part of an early-stage R&D team building cutting-edge sustainable materials A clear growth path toward lab management and industrial scale-up within 1–2 years Professional development in both research and process innovation A collaborative startup environment focused on innovation and impact Employment Type: Full-time, On-site (Navi Mumbai)
