About the Economic Transformation Council (ETC) The Economic Transformation Council is a nationally coordinated, globally connected platform committed to unlocking structural transformation across industries, institutions, and communities. It operates through specialized programs including talent development, environmental restoration, industry revival, and policy frameworks that bridge public and private collaboration. In line with its decentralized governance strategy, ETC is launching State Governing Council Bodies (SGCBs)—starting with a pilot in Tamil Nadu for FY 2025–2026—to engage regional leadership in strategic implementation, stakeholder mobilization, and public policy innovation. Job Description As a Founding Member of the Tamil Nadu Steering Committee, you will be part of a pioneering team tasked with shaping the first state-level execution framework of the Economic Transformation Council (ETC). This is a strategic and honorary role, designed for committed professionals, thought leaders, and change agents who are passionate about driving inclusive and sustainable development across Tamil Nadu. This role offers you the opportunity to represent your district or functional sector, contribute to ground-level activation of ETC’s national programs, and guide the foundational structure of the upcoming State Governing Council (SGC). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, policy advisors, and community stakeholders to ensure successful roll-out, monitoring, and impact of ETC’s initiatives. This appointment will serve as a model for replication across other Indian states, positioning Tamil Nadu as a benchmark in collaborative economic transformation. Core Responsibilities State & Sector Representation Act as the official ETC representative for your district or assigned sector (e.g., Education, Health, Environment, MSMEs, Rural Development). Facilitate alignment between ETC's national vision and local developmental needs. Program Implementation & Mobilization Lead district-level awareness, onboarding, and coordination for key ETC initiatives like: TDIP (Talent Development & Internship Programs) Project Sankofa Agro & Biodiversity Restoration Industrial Revival Models Institutional & Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain liaisons with academic institutions, corporates, public bodies, and civil society organizations. Assist in signing MoUs, knowledge exchange programs, and pilot project deployments. Volunteer & Youth Engagement Mobilize a network of youth volunteers, interns, and ambassadors at the local level. Mentor and guide emerging leaders under ETC’s youth development frameworks. Policy & Strategy Inputs Contribute insights and recommendations for state-wide implementation plans, outreach roadmaps, and policy briefs aligned with SDGs. Monitoring & Communication Submit monthly progress reports and participate in virtual review meetings. Highlight success stories, challenges, and local insights to help ETC tailor its strategy effectively. Leadership Development & Legacy Building As a founding member, help set cultural and operational precedents for the future SGC structure. Identify and groom future leaders and coordinators for expanded governance in Phase II. Additional Highlights Role Nature: Honorary with no financial compensations, with possible future elevation to decision-making roles within the State Governing Council Body (SGC). Time Commitment: Estimated 4–6 hours/month, including virtual coordination and optional physical engagements. Qualifications and Profile We are looking for high-integrity professionals, entrepreneurs, industrialists etc with demonstrable impact and commitment to public good. Applicants must fulfill the following criteria: Reputable standing in their field—be it public service, academia, business, civil society, or media. Dignified professional track record, with no active legal or ethical disputes. Proven record in institution building, policy development, strategic leadership, or community mobilization. Must be based in or have significant working experience in Tamil Nadu. Excellent communication and networking skills. Availability to participate in strategic meetings (virtual or in-person) and events throughout the 2025–26 term. Membership Requirement Applicants must be existing subscribed members of the Economic Transformation Council. If not already a member, applicants must indicate their willingness to join as subscribed members before onboarding, by fulfilling the nominal subscription and registration process. This ensures eligibility, voting rights, and access to internal knowledge systems, events, and governance instruments of the council. Role Overview – Supporter Member As a Supporter Member , you will be at the forefront of co-creating Telangana’s development agenda under the ETC framework. You won’t just attend meetings—you’ll help build programs from the ground up. Participate in strategy discussions, webinars, and regional events Members will be invited to attend regular virtual sessions, quarterly planning meetings, and workshops tailored to Telangana’s context. Contribute to community campaigns and thematic taskforces Whether it’s a rural farming intervention, a youth skilling drive, or a biodiversity awareness project, members can take initiative and lead subprojects aligned with their interests.
