Ecological Landscape Designer

This role is designed for someone with a passion for regenerative design who will work with us to plan and implement projects, and it is aimed at people who are excited to work on landscapes and human habitats in accordance with regenerative principles across a diverse range of projects in terms of scale, vision and ecoregion.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement whole systems designs of landscapes and human habitats in accordance with regenerative principles for a diverse range of projects.
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand project goals, objectives and constraints.
• Be based out of Bangalore and come to our office in Malleswaram every Monday and Tuesday while working full time in a role that will be predominantly site and office-based.
• Be comfortable staying on site for, at times, at least a week, travelling across the country, and holding long conversations in cars.

Qualifications and skills

• Conduct research, gather data, create models and analyse information to inform the design process.
• Have proficiency in drawing and/or design software including AutoCAD, Procreate, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and GIS.
• Use the above to develop ecological design plans including maps, schematic designs and detailed plans, sections, elevations and possibly 3D visualisations.
• Have study experience in fields such as ecology, horticulture, ecological restoration, architecture, landscape design, natural building, engineering, graphic design, urban planning, environmental science, regenerative agriculture, permaculture or a related field.
• Have at least one year's experience working on projects, ideally with a hands-on component such as gardening, building, farming or carpentry, involving translating what was on paper into reality.
• Ideally know at least one of the following: Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi or Malayalam.
