ECG/EMG Technician(FOOTSCAN)

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Preparation: Explain procedures to patients, ensure their comfort, and apply electrodes to appropriate areas of the body.
• Conducting Tests:
• Electromyography (EMG): Measure the electrical activity of muscles at rest and during contraction.
• Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS): Assess the efficiency of nerve impulse transmission.
• Data Collection and Documentation: Record test results accurately and provide preliminary reports to supervising physicians.
• Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain EMG equipment to ensure proper functionality and accuracy.
• Collaboration: Work closely with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret test data and contribute to patient care plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Educational Background: An associate's degree in neurodiagnostic technology or a related field is typically required.
• Certifications: Certification from recognized bodies such as the American Association of Electro diagnostic Technologists (AAET) or the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) is often required.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and neurophysiology, along with excellent patient care and communication skills.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to record and analyze data accurately, ensuring high-quality test results
• Infection Control: Adherence to safety and infection control protocols during all procedures
