The Dyeing Master plays a crucial role in overseeing the dyeing operations for woven fabrics to ensure the attainment of desired shades, quality standards, and production efficiency. By meticulously planning, supervising, and controlling the dyeing processes, this role focuses on recipe formulation, machinery utilization, and adherence to quality and safety protocols. Responsibilities include: - Planning and executing the dyeing process for various types of woven fabrics such as cotton, polyester, and blends - Preparation of dye recipes, monitoring of chemical usage, and ensuring shade accuracy - Operating and managing dyeing machines including jet dyeing, soft flow, and winch machines - Conducting pre-dyeing and post-dyeing fabric checks to identify and rectify defects like patchiness, uneven shades, and color bleeding - Maintaining comprehensive batch-wise records of fabric, chemicals, and process parameters Quality assurance is a key aspect of the role, involving close collaboration with the QA/QC team to ensure shade matching and colorfastness standards. The Dyeing Master is responsible for approving lab dips and bulk production shades, monitoring critical dyeing parameters such as pH levels, temperature, and liquor ratio. Effective team management is essential, encompassing the supervision of dyeing operators and helpers. Assigning daily tasks, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and providing training on best practices in dyeing and chemical handling are vital aspects of this role. Additionally, maintaining the cleanliness and proper maintenance of dyeing machines is crucial for optimal performance. The Dyeing Master is also accountable for compliance and safety measures, including enforcing guidelines for chemical handling and machinery operation. Collaboration with the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) team to manage waste and effluent treatment processes is essential. Maintaining detailed logs and documentation for audits and certifications such as GOTS and OEKO-TEX is a standard practice. Qualifications & Experience: - Diploma or Degree in Textile Chemistry/Processing or a related field - 5+ years of experience in woven fabric dyeing - Proficiency in reactive, disperse, vat, and other dye types - Familiarity with lab-to-bulk reproducibility and recipe scaling Skills Required: - Proficiency in shade matching and color theory - Strong grasp of process control and data analysis - Effective leadership and communication skills - Sound knowledge of fabric behavior and dye compatibility - Basic computer literacy for process recording and reporting,
