The role of the sub system engineer at TVS Motor Company's Hosur Plant in Tamil Nadu, India, specifically in the NPD - SP - TVS Norton - Chassis department, involves designing and developing significant components and systems for motorcycle chassis. As a sub system engineer, you will be responsible for various elements such as frame, swingarm, wheels, and fuel systems, from concept to production. A hands-on approach, a can-do attitude, and the ability to challenge mainstream thinking are crucial in this fast-paced and dynamic environment. TVS Motor Company is seeking professional engineers who share a passion for motorcycling. Key Responsibilities: - Creating high-quality CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings following company standards, with preferred software being PTC Creo. - Conducting basic FEA analysis on parts, understanding boundary and loading conditions, and optimizing designs based on Quality, Cost, and Delivery prospects. - Identifying regulatory requirements and integrating them into the design, as well as ensuring the application of relevant industry standards and competitor benchmarking. - Leading design reviews, preparing supporting documents, ensuring timely component releases, and collaborating effectively with internal departments and suppliers. - Upholding company, departmental, and quality policies, sharing technical knowledge, and supporting proto development and DVP testing activities. - Occasional travel may be required to support supplier development and product testing. Functional Competencies: - Understanding key engineering principles in component and assembly design, material and manufacturing process selection, engineering drawings, design for assembly, and design for manufacture. - Risk identification and mitigation, problem-solving, relevant analysis and test methods application, and qualification to degree level or above in a relevant engineering discipline.
