Duty Medical Officer

Job Description:

A Duty Medical Officer (DMO) is a front-line medical professional responsible for providing immediate and primary medical care in hospitals, clinics, or emergency departments. DMOs often serve in rotating shifts to ensure 24/7 medical coverage and play a crucial role in patient assessment, stabilization, and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line medical care to patients in emergency, OPD, or inpatient wards
• Attend to medical emergencies and stabilize patients before specialist intervention
• Monitor and manage inpatients under guidance from senior consultants
• Document patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical findings
• Coordinate diagnostic tests and review results
• Ensure timely referrals to specialists or escalation of critical cases
• Administer injections, IV fluids, oxygen therapy, and other basic treatments
• Handle medico-legal cases as per hospital protocols
• Participate in ward rounds and shift handovers
• Maintain accurate patient records and medical charts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) – Mandatory
• Must be registered with a recognized Medical Council (e.g., MCI/NMC in India)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications – Highly preferred
• Additional certifications in emergency medicine – a plus but not required

Experience Requirements:

• Fresher to 2 years – commonly accepted for junior DMO roles
• 2–5 years – preferred for more independent DMO roles or night duty positions
• Experience in emergency medicine, ICU, or casualty settings is a strong advantage

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
