As an experienced Residential Mortgage Underwriter, you will demonstrate a robust understanding of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA guidelines. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously analyze and assess residential loan applications, guaranteeing their alignment with investor and regulatory standards. Your proficiency in risk evaluation, attention to detail, and capacity to render prudent credit judgments in a dynamic setting will be crucial in this role. Your key responsibilities will include reviewing and underwriting residential mortgage loan files, ensuring adherence to agency and investor guidelines, scrutinizing credit, income, asset, and collateral documentation, making precise and prompt underwriting determinations, and effectively communicating these decisions to pertinent teams. To excel in this role, you must possess a minimum of 3 years of live US mortgage underwriting experience, exhibit proficiency with Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS) such as Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP), and have a comprehensive understanding of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA guidelines.
