The Director for Web Series & Short Films is responsible for shaping the creative vision and overseeing the entire production process of web-based series and short film projects. The Director works closely with writers, producers, actors, and crew to ensure that each project is aligned with the intended narrative, style, and quality. This role requires creative vision, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of visual storytelling techniques. Key Responsibilities Creative Vision and Conceptualization : Collaborate with writers and producers to develop the creative direction and visual style for each project. Interpret scripts and contribute to story development, pacing, character arcs, and tone to achieve the desired storytelling goals. Ensure each episode or short film maintains consistency in theme, style, and character development. Casting and Actor Direction : Conduct auditions and select talent that aligns with character descriptions and story requirements. Work closely with actors to guide performance quality, ensuring authenticity, emotional depth, and character alignment. Provide clear direction and support to help actors develop their characters and deliver consistent performances. Production Planning and Coordination : Oversee pre-production activities, including shot lists, location scouting, and creating storyboards with the cinematographer. Collaborate with the production team to establish shooting schedules, budgets, and resource requirements. Ensure production timelines are followed, adapting plans when necessary to address unforeseen challenges. On-Set Leadership and Direction : Lead the production crew during filming, ensuring that all shots align with the creative vision.
