As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing DSL network architectures tailored to meet specific business requirements. This includes the installation and configuration of DSLAMs, routers, and other network equipment, as well as the implementation and upkeep of network security protocols such as firewalls and VPNs. You will work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless network deployments and upgrades. Your role will also entail monitoring network performance to proactively identify and resolve issues, troubleshooting connectivity problems including DSL line quality issues and equipment malfunctions, and performing routine maintenance tasks like software updates and security patches. Additionally, you will be tasked with managing network inventory and maintaining thorough documentation of network configurations. Network security will be a key focus area, where you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing network security policies and procedures, monitoring network traffic for security threats and vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with relevant security standards and regulations. Collaboration and communication are essential aspects of this role as you will be working with service providers to install and maintain DSL circuits, collaborating with other IT teams on various projects and network deployments, and effectively communicating with users and stakeholders regarding network status and issues. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will need to stay informed about the latest DSL technologies and industry trends, develop and implement network documentation and standard operating procedures, and actively participate in network planning and budgeting activities. To excel in this role, you should possess a strong understanding of DSL technology and networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with DSLAMs, routers, and other network equipment, as well as proficiency in network troubleshooting and problem-solving are crucial. Familiarity with network security concepts and technologies, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are also desired. Relevant certifications like CompTIA Network+ or CCNA are often preferred.,
