A Lead 2D Animator is responsible for overseeing the animation process, ensuring consistency, and quality, and mentoring the team. You will need to be a creative thinker with a strong background in 2D animation, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of animators to produce high-quality work. Your role will involve ensuring that the work produced is consistent and coherent with the project's overall style and quality. Your key responsibilities will include understanding project goals to establish the visual identity of the game or project, training and coaching the team on new software and animation styles, creating compelling 2D character animations with an emphasis on humor and storytelling, establishing artwork for backgrounds and layouts, implementing efficient workflows to optimize production, and integrating assets into the game engine for evaluation. As a Lead 2D Animator, you will also be expected to lead and mentor a team of 2D animators, collaborate with directors and department leads to develop animation styles, conduct regular team meetings and reviews, and contribute to production milestones. To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in 2D animation, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role, a relevant degree in Game Production, Animation, Graphic Design, or Fine Arts, proficiency in software like Spine, Photoshop, After Effects, Unity, Blender, and Dragon Bones, and strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
