Job Role:

A Draftsman creates detailed technical drawings for piping systems, using CAD software, in Chemical industry project expansions. They translate engineering designs into accurate blueprints and isometrics for fabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities:

Creating and Modifying Drawings:

Developing and editing 2D and 3D piping drawings, including layouts, schematics, and blueprints, using CAD software like AutoCAD.

Generating isometric drawings that show the piping system in three dimensions, crucial for fabrication and installation.

2.

Creating P&IDs, which illustrate the functional relationships between equipment and piping in a process system.

1. Bill of Materials (BOM)

Extraction:

Identifying and documenting the materials needed for a piping project.

Quality Control:

Ensuring drawings are accurate, complete, and comply with industry standards and project requirements.

Collaboration:

Working closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of piping projects.

Site Visits:

May be required to conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and gather information for drawing development.

Skills and Qualifications:

• CAD Proficiency:

  Strong skills in using CAD software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, SP3D, PDMS) are essential.

• Technical Knowledge:

  Understanding of piping systems, materials, and industry standards.

• Educational Background:

  Typically requires an Diploma in a related field like Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
