As a STB Manual Test Engineer, you will be responsible for driving Set-Top Box related software QA manual testing. Your role will involve validating and testing STB software as per checklist manually, reviewing and understanding software requirements/specifications, collaborating with the test lead to validate the solution/implementation, and identifying/documenting defects observed during test execution. You must have 4-7 years of hands-on expertise in DVB Set-Top Box manual testing. Additionally, you should possess 3-5 years of experience and knowledge in QC/Testing of Set-Top Box functionality. Your technical experience should include complete knowledge and experience of all the testing features available in STB, such as architecture of the STB, EPG, OTT apps, VoD & recording/Player, CA backend, interactive services & games. It is essential that you have a good understanding of SD, HD/4K video and video/audio codecs (H.264, H.265, AAC, Dolby) as well as performance metrics (bitrate, latency, buffering). Knowledge of SATCR/LNB configurations, tuning & RF signal testing is also required. Proficiency with tools like JIRA is preferred. In this role, you will be expected to perform thorough software regression & performance testing as per the timeline, communicate regularly with the test lead to update test status, and maintain test environments and configurations across the lab. You will also track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts, and stay up to date with testing tools and test strategies. To excel in this position, you should have good communication skills, be a team player, and hold an Engineering graduate B.Tech/B.E in Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunication.
