The Technical Director - Energy position at AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities team in Bengaluru/Gurugram is a senior leadership role requiring a strong technical understanding in the Energy Transition & Renewables sector. The role involves building and expanding the headcount of the India team focusing on Energy Transition and Renewable Energy projects. As a key member of the EC team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise, accelerating project delivery, and ensuring AECOM's competitiveness in the industry. Your primary responsibilities will include developing technical approaches to address complex challenges and client needs related to Energy Transition and Renewable Energy projects. You will work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating your expertise in Energy Sector projects such as EHV, MV, and LV Substations, Transmission lines Design, Urban Infrastructure related Electrical Power systems planning, Green Hydrogen, BESS, Pumped Storage, and other Hybrid solutions. Your experience in conceptual and detailed design of EHV projects globally, along with Technical Advisory Services for Hybrid Generation Systems, will be crucial for success in this role. Additionally, you will be expected to lead a team of design professionals, ensuring successful project completion, adherence to quality and safety standards, and proactive decision-making. Collaboration with senior management to formulate business strategies, enhance communication channels, and oversee the adoption of new technology solutions will be part of your responsibilities. Regular reporting to senior management about performance, issues, and suggestions for improvement will be essential. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Master of Engineering or Technology degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and have 15-20 years of experience in Energy Sector related Engineering design works. Global experience in Extra High Voltage System engineering, Grid Integration solutions, and managing large design teams in Energy sector projects is highly desirable. Proficiency in various design tools, good communication skills in English, and the ability to see the bigger picture of projects will be advantageous.
