As a Power System Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Power Systems Energy & Utility Consulting- Transmission Planning team, contributing significantly to the expansion of transmission and distribution activities. Your primary responsibility will involve developing and conducting comprehensive power system studies and models for energy clients globally, encompassing aspects of power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial systems. This role necessitates the application of advanced engineering techniques to solve intricate issues in the transmission and distribution sectors. Your responsibilities will include: 1. **Power System Analysis & Modelling**: Conducting advanced technical modeling and simulation of electrical power systems, such as power flow studies, transient power system analysis tools like PSS/E, ASPEN, PSLF, PSCAD, ETAP, EMTP, TARA, and MiPower. Performing steady state, short circuit studies, reliability studies, contingency analysis, and protection coordination studies to enhance the performance and reliability of electrical networks. 2. **Technical Leadership**: Leading and executing power system planning and analysis projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards. Providing technical guidance to other team members, including training and development of junior engineers. 3. **Data & Process Automation**: Developing and implementing automation tools using Python and other software to streamline repetitive tasks involved in power system analysis and reporting. Continuously enhancing modeling and data analysis processes by integrating new techniques and tools. 4. **Client & Stakeholder Engagement**: Acting as a primary contact for clients, engaging with them to understand their technical requirements and ensuring effective delivery of solutions. Delivering clear and effective communication, presentations, and reports to clients and internal stakeholders, simplifying complex technical concepts. 5. **Compliance & Standards**: Ensuring project compliance with relevant IEEE/NERC, IEC, and other international standards. Staying updated on industry developments and standards, particularly in North American power systems, to implement best practices in project execution. 6. **Project Management**: Overseeing multiple projects concurrently, identifying and resolving critical path items to meet client deadlines. Coordinating with project managers and team members to align deliverables with client needs and expectations. Preparing project documentation to support ongoing and future projects. 7. **Innovation & Continuous Improvement**: Staying abreast of the latest technologies, trends, research, and innovations in the energy and power systems sector. Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes and developing new methodologies and tools for power system planning. 8. **International Collaboration & Travel**: Collaborating with international teams and clients across various time zones. Being willing to travel internationally for client meetings, conferences, and global project support. Qualifications: - Masters in electrical engineering or Bachelor's in electrical engineering with 2 years of experience; advanced degree preferred - 0-2 years of relevant professional experience - Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills - Proficiency in planning software such as PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP, PSCAD, SKM, DigSILENT, MiPower, and ETAP - Experience in power system planning and operations - Track record of leading teams and providing guidance - Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies - Proficient with IEEE/NERC & IEC standards - Ability to manage projects concurrently and meet deadlines effectively This job opportunity is based in India, Maharashtra, Mumbai, on a full-time schedule, with no travel requirement. Ensure system accuracy of production orders and planning parameters. Ensure good service and relationship towards internal and external stakeholders customers. Work with suppliers, engineers, and quality assurance staffs to meet the delivery plan. Handle daily correspondences from suppliers and headquarters. Expedite supplier's schedule and delivery. Monitor supplier production capacity and production status and material control. Follow up rejects from quality control inspection. Understand the capacities of assigned products and work closely with vendors to achieve committed capacities (manpower, facilities, and so on). Manage the raw material/WIP inventory of our vendors to ensure material availability and control the liability. Handle purchasing, planning, and distribution activities for assigned suppliers independently. Supervise vendor's daily production plans and ensure the production plans can fulfill the delivery schedule. Monitor the production plan execution on a daily basis. Follow up all the supply issues of assigned products. If any potential or existing OTD failure happens, work with vendors and different internal teams closely to minimize the impact ASAP and figure out corrective actions. Review supplier's performance in terms of OTD, planning flexibility, and material availability with related vendors in their factories on a regular basis. Proactively identify potential supply risks to resolve all the coming risks at the early stage. Help and coach the vendors to improve their reliabilities and promote cooperation. Skills and Experience College degree or above. 5-6 years relevant work experience in Toys of Trading/Buying Office or FMCG industry, supplier management experience is preferable. Enthusiastic, motivated by new challenges, cooperative, and excellent in working with a multifunctional team. Strong data analytical skill. Excellent command of written and spoken English. Able to work independently with overseas customers and vendors. Proficient in ERP system, SAP preferred. Be familiar with MS office, especially Excel.
