As an Associate in the End User Security Team within the Wealth Management Chief Data Office (CDO) at Morgan Stanley, your primary role will be to serve as a Business Unit Information Management Officer (BUIMO). In this position, you will be responsible for implementing processes related to data classification, retention, preservation, and disposal in alignment with the Firm's Global Information Management Policy. Your contributions will play a crucial role in supporting the mission of Wealth Management to provide policies, tools, processes, and support services necessary for effective information and records management within the firm. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Unstructured File Scanning: Developing scanning policies to identify sensitive data in storage repositories, validating results, and implementing appropriate security controls. Additionally, creating tools to measure repository security and residual risks related to unstructured data. - Data Lifecycle Management: Supporting WM system owners through the Data Lifecycle Management process by attending interviews, clarifying requirements, providing subject matter expertise, escalating plans for approval, tracking assessments, and driving remediation efforts. - Repository Ownership and Inactivity: Reviewing reports on shared folder ownership and access management records to address orphaned or unactioned file repositories, determining eligibility for archiving and decommissioning, and providing input for tooling improvements. - General Responsibilities: Maintaining clear communication on project statuses, participating in internal reviews, conducting data analysis, reporting risk management issues, and ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirements. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of relevant risk management experience, strong writing skills, organizational abilities, attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of the financial services industry, experience with file scanning and labeling tools, and familiarity with visualization tools.
