Primary Responsibilities 1.Performs diagnostic radiographs to include but not limited to : · Proper positioning and radiology technique while adhering to radiation safety guidelines and universal precautions. · Proper placement of the imagining equipment at the correct height and angle relative to the · patient’s body to produce the radio graph needed. · Proper measurements taken to determine the minimum effective amount of radiation needed to gather the appropriate image, and set the control controls accordingly. · Prepare patients (if needed) for radiography/ procedures and take radiographs following established procedures for patient care and safety. · Maintain repeat rate of 2 % or less post processing of films. · Preparation of x-ray films with request for reading by radiologist. · Assistance to radiologist is conducting special procedures. · Transfer of patients to and from urgent care as needed · Need proper detailed knowledge of x-ray procedures and the ability to explain the procedures to a patient. · Must follow regulations for protecting patients, coworkers and themselves from unnecessary exposure to radiation from the equipment and environment. · Must take precautions to reduce the potential hazardous radiation includes aprons and other shielding devices. · Must check that other fellow technicians are wearing TLD badges properly · Maintain patient records Implementation of proper technique · Maintaining patient records & crosscheck with the system. · Handling reports (crosschecking the reports & films before dispatching them). · Handling patients. · Proper checking of the prescription.
