Director, Software Development Engineer-Test

As an SDET Lead at MetLife, you will play a crucial role in driving the testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality software in an Agile environment. Your responsibilities will include people management, stakeholder management, ways of working, E2E software development test lifecycle management, and more. You will lead the planning and documentation of complex test strategies based on customer needs and maintain automation scripts to enhance test automation processes. Key Responsibilities: - People Management: Manage SDETs, upskill/reskill, hire and retain talent, and foster an engineering culture. - Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key business and technology stakeholders to deliver automation testing suites/strategies. - Ways of Working: Drive the adoption of Agile practices in the software delivery lifecycle. - E2E Software Development Test Lifecycle Management: Develop code for test automation, define Software Testing Design, and innovate on automation processes. - Test Strategy: Align the Test Strategy with Agile Development Model and implement scalable automation framework. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent. - Experience: 8+ years leading SDET teams in financial services or technology domain, implementing automation testing practices, and proficiency in CI/CD and Agile methodologies. - Language: Business proficiency in English, Japanese language knowledge is an advantage. Skills and Competencies: - Hands-on in test automation and experience in programming and testing. - Exposure to BDD, Agile methodologies, and communication skills. - Collaboration: Proven track record of building partnerships in a global environment. - People Management: Ability to inspire and lead diverse teams in a high-paced environment. Tech Stack: - Development & Delivery Methods: Agile (Scaled Agile Framework). - Automated Testing Framework + UI: Selenium, TOSCA, BDD-Cucumber, Playwright. - API: RestAssured, Postman, KarateDSL. - Cloud Platform: Azure DevOps, Perfecto, SauceLabs, BrowserStack. - Performance Testing: Jmeter, Blazemeter.
