Director, Data Science

OPPORTUNITY HAPPENS HERE REALIZE YOURS

Alongside the best and the brightest, you will regularly:

Define and drive AI strategy in collaboration with cross-functional leaders, aligning AI and data science initiatives with business objectives and healthcare regulatory standards (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
Build and lead high-performing AI and data teams across geographies (US and Bangalore), scaling from the ground up and managing organizations of 10 100+ people including Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and AI Engineers.
Develop and deploy AI-powered products such as agentic AI systems, conversational agents, and decision-support tools that enhance personalization, automation, and business efficiency in healthcare payments.
Identify and deliver high-impact AI use cases including predictive analytics, fraud detection, intelligent financial tools, and automated customer service capabilities.
Establish an AI-ready enterprise data platform, overseeing Data Engineering functions to ensure high-quality data integration, transformation, and optimization in support of AI innovation.
Promote AI literacy and a culture of innovation, enabling cross-functional teams to effectively integrate AI into core offerings and championing an AI-first mindset throughout the organization.
Implement MLOps and governance best practices to ensure secure, scalable, and continuously improving AI systems, while maintaining responsible AI principles and compliance.
Drive thought leadership and innovation, representing Alegeus in industry forums, fostering external partnerships, and staying ahead of emerging AI trends in healthcare and fintech.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR CREATING A LASTING IMPACT

Alegeus colleagues are known as problem-solvers, risk-takers, and innovative thinkers. As a Director, Data Science, these skills are essential for success:

Abilities: Expertise in AI strategy, MLOps, and responsible AI governance, with a strong ability to design and deploy agentic AI systems, conversational agents, and decision-support tools. Skilled at identifying high-impact use cases such as fraud detection, predictive analytics, and intelligent financial automation. Adept at fostering AI literacy, promoting innovation, and aligning solutions with healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR).
Experience: Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing AI and data science teams (10 100+ members) across geographies, including the US and Bangalore. Extensive leadership experience in cross-functional collaboration, AI product development, enterprise data platform management, and deploying scalable AI solutions in regulated environments.

Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Location : Bangalore.
