As a member of our multicultural HVDC control team at Siemens, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and verifying control systems for HVDC substations. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with project management, system and equipment designers, as well as customers to develop concepts for control functions. You will then proceed to implement these functions in DIGSI, followed by integrating and verifying them in a hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) test setup alongside your team colleagues. Sharing knowledge is a key aspect of this role, and you will be involved in creating documentation and conducting training sessions for both colleagues and customers. Your new role will be both challenging and future-oriented, focusing on tasks such as designing BCU-based substation control systems for high voltage direct current systems (HVDC), implementing control software, and verifying using simulation tools and real-time test environments. Key responsibilities will also include preparing design specifications, documentation, and effort estimations, as well as clarifying technical requirements within project teams and with customers and suppliers. Additionally, you will provide remote support during the commissioning and service of HVDC systems. To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with a university degree in electrical engineering with a focus on energy technology and some initial professional experience. A strong background in parameterization of bay control units (BCUs), particularly with SIPROTEC 5 devices using DIGSI and CFC, is preferred. Experience in implementing the standard IEC61850 for substation control and data exchange with higher level automation and SCADA systems is highly desirable. Furthermore, candidates should possess good knowledge in high voltage and substation technology, as well as in the design of interlocking schemes and automated control sequences. Familiarity with secondary interfaces of high voltage components such as switching devices, transformers, CTs, and VTs is also essential. Proficiency in English is a must for effective communication within the team and with stakeholders. This position is based in either Gurgaon or Chennai, with opportunities to travel to various locations in India and beyond.
