Dialysis Technician

As a Dialysis Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. Your responsibilities will include: - Initiating dialysis following unit protocol and administering anticoagulants. - Instructing patients on the care of vascular access and open wounds. - Measuring and adjusting blood flow rates based on protocols and prescriptions. - Calculating and adjusting fluid removal rates according to prescriptions. - Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and dialysis equipment for malfunctions. - Responding to alarms, adjusting treatment parameters, and administering saline as per the doctor's prescription. - Handling dialysis-related emergencies such as hypertensive episodes, needle displacement, clotting episodes, and initiating CPR during cardiac arrest. - Terminating dialysis following unit protocol and reprocessing the dialyzer post-termination. - Cleaning and disinfecting dialysis machines and equipment as per unit protocol. - Disposing of used dialysis supplies. - Communicating emotional, medical, psychosocial, and nutritional concerns to the doctor. - Completing all flow sheets and billing details accurately for appropriate billing. - Reporting inventories and supply shortages to the department in charge.
