We are looking candidate for DGM Engineering based at Mahad

Job Purpose:

1. Purpose

To lead and manage the mechanical maintenance function of the chemical manufacturing plant (both continuous and batch processes), ensuring maximum equipment reliability, safety, compliance, and cost efficiency. The role focuses on implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, minimizing downtime, supporting production targets, and ensuring statutory and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) compliance.

Role and Responsibilities

2. Key Roles & Responsibilities

A. Maintenance Strategy & Planning

• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
• Prepare annual maintenance budget (Capex & Opex) and monitor adherence.
• Ensure spare parts inventory management through CMMS and optimize costs.
• Plan plant shutdowns and turnarounds with minimal impact on production.

B. Operations & Execution

• Ensure continuous availability of critical utilities (water, compressed air, cooling systems, effluent treatment plants, etc.).
• Troubleshoot chronic issues in equipment such as pumps, compressors, reactors, heat exchangers, dryers, and utility systems.
• Monitor & optimize maintenance KPIs (MTTR, MTBF, downtime, maintenance cost).
• Implement root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement initiatives.

C. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure statutory compliance with Factory Act, Pressure Vessel regulations, and Pollution Control Board requirements.
• Coordinate with external agencies for statutory inspections and audits.
• Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety standards, work permits (LOTO, confined space, hot work), and EHS guidelines.

D. People & Team Management

• Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians across mechanical and utility functions.
• Conduct training and skill development programs for the team.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

E. Continuous Improvement & Technology

• Drive energy efficiency and cost-saving projects.
• Introduce new technologies (predictive analytics, CMMS optimization) for smart maintenance.
• Benchmark maintenance practices with industry standards to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Equipment uptime & availability.
• Reduction in breakdown.
• Adherence to preventive maintenance schedule (% compliance).
• Maintenance cost.
• Statutory compliance (zero violations).
• Safety performance (zero LTI Lost Time Injury).

Required Knowledge

• Identification of Critical Equipments & Hazardous Chemical Lines.
• Knowledge of Tools & Tackles required for Maintenance.
• Knowledge of Safety Permits.
• Expertise in MSGL Equipment’s.
• Expertise in all Rotary & Stationary Equipment’s.
• Expertise in Graphite Equipment’s.
• Software Knowledge as per Company use.
• Adequate Knowledge in Metallurgy.
• QESH

Education & Experience

Education

Essential: BE / BTECH (Mechanical)

Preferred:

Experience

Essential: 15-20 Years in Plant Maintenance.

Preferred: Experience in Chemical industry / Continuous Process Industry
