You will be responsible for executing engineering projects and solutions for Eaton's Switchgear product line, including specifications, design, implementation, and testing. As a professional with preferably Six Sigma certification, you will drive engineering excellence by leveraging an analysis-first approach. It is essential to design cost-effective and reliable solutions and build the VAVE/NPI portfolio for SWGR. Strong mechanical knowledge and skills are required to execute complex VAVE projects effectively. Success in this position hinges on the ability to work collaboratively, stay motivated towards project objectives, and be open to learning new techniques and development processes. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing Switchgear and subsystems with new features in line with marketing requirements - Understanding the product portfolio and business landscape to propose cost-out strategies through product teardown - Taking technical ownership of engineer-to-order requirements and ensuring product compliance with global design standards such as IEEE, IEC, or other applicable standards - Conducting system/component sizing, designing, simulation, and testing activities to meet product requirements - Modifying existing products through the Change Management process to add value for end customers - Executing engineer-to-order projects and leading activities like converting customer requirements into design parameters, designing core/coil as per requirements, and creating designs in Inventor & Creo - Identifying opportunities for process automation and implementing lean methodologies - Recommending design improvements and proposing VAVE initiatives to enhance business outcomes - Utilizing knowledge of IEC/IEEE codes and standards to develop test plans and ensure compliance - Providing engineering judgement on product impact in terms of cost, testing, and certification perspectives - Witnessing tests such as Temperature rise, Fault current, High voltage, Impact, Vibration, mechanical/electrical endurance, and estimating their impact on product performance from a VAVE standpoint - Creating test object requirements, assembly plans, finalizing test parameters, and analyzing results to take corrective actions - Supporting the development of new designs and methodologies aligned with the organization's Technical Roadmap - Reviewing supplier documentation requirements, design proposals, and roadmap control documentation - Participating in design reviews, identifying and mitigating risks, and collaborating in multidiscipline development and corrective action teams - Undertaking various engineering tasks involving complex problem-solving related to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications Qualifications: - Bachelors/Masters degree in engineering with a preference for Mechanical specialization - 4 to 6 years of experience in NPD/VAVE and product design Skills: - Strong experience in medium voltage distribution products, especially Switchgears/transformers - Experience in leading programs/projects through all stages of the product development cycle - Ability to work effectively in global teams and virtual environments - Proficiency in product development using DfX methodology, analytical skills, and Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD - Capability to generate innovative concepts for system/sub-system improvements - Track record of completing complex projects on time and collaborating with stakeholders for enhanced engineering deliverables Desired Skills: - Technical knowledge in electromechanical products like Medium Voltage Switchgear, Circuit breakers, protection equipment - Strong mechanical expertise in materials, structural and thermal calculations, and physical testing - Understanding of industry standards and their application to products - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Self-directed and capable of providing progress updates and metrics regularly Your role will involve continuous learning, problem-solving, and collaboration to drive engineering excellence and deliver high-quality solutions in alignment with business objectives.,

Conducts & reviews DFMAT (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly Technique), SAF (Supplier Approval Form), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Control Plan, SPC (Statistical Process Control), PV&V (Process Validation and Verification), FAI (First Article Inspection), LRA (Logistics Risk Assessment), and SICR (Supplier Initiated Change Request). Develops, executes, monitors, and controls APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) plans as part of the NPI process to ensure consistent product quality. Contributes to the content of the Supplier Project Book, documenting detailed quality requirements and expectations for suppliers. Facilitates collaboration between R&D and suppliers in Design for Excellence (DfX) initiatives to enhance product design quality and innovation. Focuses that Critical to Quality (CtQ) characteristics are effectively communicated to suppliers and rigorously maintained throughout the production process. Coordinates Part Submission Warrant plans, deliverables, line releases, and completion, ensuring all parts meet specified quality standards before approval. Executes supplier improvement and development initiatives on APQP(Advanced Product Quality Planning), providing guidance and resources to enhance supplier processes, ensuring they meet the high standards required for production quality and efficiency. Assists with the process of making additions, changes, or deletions to the Approved Supplier List, ensuring that only qualified suppliers are retained. Suppports in end to end performance management of suppliers, conducts detailed analysis of defects to determine if they are supplier-caused, and acts as an independent reviewer for Supplier Corrective Action Requests. u00A0 You're the right fit if: (4 x bullets max) 1.
