Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Atlas Transformers India Limited(Por) Experience: 3 to 5 Year Job Summary: The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and assemblies for power and distribution transformers. This role involves creating detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings, ensuring mechanical integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability. The engineer will collaborate closely with electrical engineers, production, and quality teams to deliver high-performance transformer solutions that meet customer specifications and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop mechanical designs for transformer components including tanks, radiators, conservators, core clamping structures, bushings, and enclosures. Create 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD). Design structural and lifting supports in compliance with IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards. Perform thermal and structural calculations to ensure design meets mechanical and thermal requirements. Use FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS) for mechanical stress and vibration analysis. Prepare technical documentation and engineering reports. Ensure designs comply with industry codes (e.g., IEC 60076, ANSI C57, IS standards) and customer requirements. Work closely with electrical design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams during product development. Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting during the product validation phase. Contribute to cost reduction, manufacturability improvements, and innovation in mechanical design. Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and other quality/process improvement initiatives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. (Masterβs preferred) Experience: 3β7 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in power/distribution transformer design or heavy electrical equipment manufacturing. Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo) Experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS) Knowledge of thermal management, structural design, and vibration analysis Familiarity with welding, sheet metal, fabrication, and casting practices Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Good communication and teamwork abilities Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects Job Type: Full-time Pay: βΉ30,000.00 - βΉ50,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
