Key Responsibilities: · Lead the mechanical design and development of products from concept to production. · Create, review, and manage detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar). · Select Plastics and Metal material based on application · Perform Thermal and FEA simulations · Perform design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) reviews. · Conduct tolerance analysis and ensure compliance with industry standards. · Collaborate closely with electrical, embedded, and industrial design teams for integrated product development. · Support prototype development and perform design validation tests. · Interface with vendors and manufacturing teams for material selection, production feasibility, and cost optimization. · Maintain and update design documentation, BOMs, and version control. · Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to design best practices and company standards. Required Qualifications: · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. · 5+ years of experience in mechanical CAD design in a product development environment. · Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent CAD software. · Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, plastic injection molding, CNC machining, etc.). · Experience with GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and thermal/mechanical simulation is a plus. · Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. · Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team. Preferred Skills: · Experience with PDM/PLM systems. · Exposure to embedded product enclosures and ruggedized product designs. · Familiarity with thermal analysis and structural FEA tools. · Ability to manage design projects independently and deliver on schedule.
