Job Description: Linux Administrator (with RedHat Application Experience) Position: Linux Administrator Location: Navi Mumbai Experience: 2-4 years Employment Type: Full-time Role & responsibilities We are looking for a skilled and proactive Linux Administrator Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and related applications. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of Linux servers, applications, and services in production and enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers and applications. Manage system administration tasks such as user management, file system management, package management, and patching. Deploy, configure, and monitor RedHat middleware applications (e.g., JBoss EAP, Apache HTTPD, Tomcat). Implement and maintain system security (SELinux, firewalls, certificates, and patch compliance). Perform server monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance. Manage and troubleshoot system services (DNS, DHCP, FTP, NFS, SSH, SMTP, etc.). Automate routine tasks using Shell scripting, Ansible, or other automation tools . Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies. Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to support deployments, upgrades, and migrations. Generate and maintain documentation, SOPs, and change management records . Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in RHEL (RedHat Enterprise Linux) administration. Experience with RedHat middleware applications (JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic/WebSphere exposure is a plus). Knowledge of Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V/KVM) and Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/OpenStack) . Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes) is preferred. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancing) . Hands-on experience in automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Bash scripting) . Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.). Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. RedHat Certification (RHCSA / RHCE) strongly preferred. 2–4 years of relevant Linux administration experience. Nice-to-Have Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins). Knowledge of database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle on Linux). Experience with ITIL-based processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
