Overview:
JAGGAER is the intelligent source-to-pay and supplier collaboration platform, with a strong focus on strategic sourcing. We are seeking an 3 to 7 Years experienced DevOps Engineer to join our growing team.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that ensure stability, scalability, and performance across development and production environments. you'll manage deployments, monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement automation while gaining exposure to advanced technologies and cloud infrastructure.
Principal Responsibilities
- Ensure stability and performance of applications by managing deployments and monitoring production environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including after-hours emergencies when on-call.
- Implement automation for system administration tasks and CI/CD processes.
- Collaborate globally with developers and infrastructure teams to maintain multi-environment configurations.
- Create and maintain clear, detailed documentation for technical operations, server environments, and related processes.
Position Requirements
- Ability to be on-call to ensure timely resolution of production emergencies and service outages.
- Must be available to work until at least 12 PM US Eastern, preferably 2 PM, to ensure overlap with global teams.
- Strong preference for experience with Bamboo(Strongly Preferred), including managing build/deploy projects and troubleshooting automation issues.
- Skilled in proactively tuning web and application server components (eg Apache httpd, Tomcat, NGINX) and JVM settings based on runtime performance analysis.
- Proficiency in automating system administration tasks using bash, Python, and/or Perl scripting.
- Experience managing log growth across application and system services using tools like logrotate.
- Strong skills in monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch(Preferred), journald, and system/service/application logs to provide early warning and rapid response.
- Experience leading multi-environment, multi-service configuration management using Git, KMS, and secure frameworks.
- Ability to develop custom monitoring and alerting solutions to address gaps in existing tools.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving timing and sequence-sensitive issues with cross-service autostart using systemd and unit files.
- Ability to assist infrastructure teams with package installation and dependency resolution during system upgrades and patching.
- Reliable execution of recurring processes and procedures for technical integrations (eg, standing up new SSO activations).
- Hands-on experience administering AWS EC2 instances, EBS, and LVM volumes, including resizing, storage expansion, and recovery of unresponsive hosts.
- Ability to manage AWS network storage solutions (EFS, FSx) and host-level equivalents (eg, automount, fstab).
- Passion and skill for documenting technical instructions clearly and thoroughly.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with Ansible for configuration automation.
- Familiarity with AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure as code.
- Experience with strategic sourcing applications.
