Role Overview: As a Software Engineer at Standard Chartered Bank, your primary responsibility will be re-engineering legacy applications and building a state-of-the-art Credit Origination 2.0 platform in alignment with the Bank's NextGen technology vision. You will play a crucial role in consistently delivering valuable features, identifying process improvements, suggesting innovative approaches, and contributing to fulfilling requirements. Your expertise in programming, including knowledge of IDE, languages, and toolsets, will be essential, along with a good understanding of threads, concurrent programming, and code optimization. You should also be adept at debugging complex problems and have a solid grasp of various programming languages and paradigms. Key Responsibilities: - Apply appropriate design patterns and develop significant features - Understand Idempotence and ensure code enhancements - Emphasize cohesion, SOLID principles, and domain modeling - Design for performance optimization at all levels - Implement automation and build CD pipelines - Monitor systems to align with user needs and business objectives - Collaborate with team members on design discussions - Effectively present information and mentor colleagues - Engage with product owners to drive value and share domain knowledge Qualification Required: - Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent - Proficiency with Java/J2EE, Spring, Struts, Hibernate, and other development tools - Experience in microservices architecture, PL/SQL development, web services, and API design - Familiarity with CI/CD processes - Solid understanding of operating systems, databases, and data storage paradigms - Strong scripting skills and automation knowledge - Capable of writing secure code and implementing server hardening protocols Join us at Standard Chartered Bank, where diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning are highly valued.
