Dev Practices SME

As a Senior DevOps at CGI, you will work independently under limited supervision in the Applications Development field, applying your knowledge to develop simple application solutions. Your main responsibilities will include: - Researching and developing optimized usage of development tools and technologies such as: - KAFKA - Kubernetes - Docker - APIGEE - Bitbucket, Gitlab - Jenkins, Ansible, Sonar, NexusIQ, Fortify - ELK - Dynatrace - Terraform - Future Dev Practices tools - Contributing technical expertise to projects utilizing the mentioned technologies and technical transformation projects. - Assisting development teams in adopting best practices like Unit Testing, Code Reviews, Code Quality. - Updating maturity matrix, enriching documents, and writing guidelines for the ADM to follow. - Reviewing and ensuring compliance with defined software/product development best practices. - Staying up-to-date on software/product development trends and tools. - Reviewing and validating specific releases against Dev Practices Guidelines. In terms of Technical & Behavioral Competencies, you should have the following skills and experience: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. - 5+ years of practical experience in the IT industry. - 5+ years of practical experience in software development of web applications (Spring, Angular, SQL, Redis, Git, Jenkins, Kafka, Maven). - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. - Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills. - Expertise in CICD, DevOps, event-driven architecture, cloud-native principles. - Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Linux. - Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python and/or Bash preferred). - Good knowledge of CI tools (Git, Jenkins, Nexus, JUnit). - Working knowledge of cloud platforms. - Experience in developing cloud-native applications. - Experience with diverse technologies. Additionally, the following qualifications will be beneficial for success in this role: - Experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall). - Experience with GitLab runner is a plus.
