Job Description

You will be responsible for overseeing and executing software patching activities, ranging from OS-level updates to third-party software patches, firmware, and driver updates. You will conduct QA testing for patches before deploying them across the organization. Collaboration with the cybersecurity team to analyze security reports and proactively address potential vulnerabilities within the environment will be a key aspect of your role. Your expertise in patching and software deployment using SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) and JAMF will be crucial. You will create and manage patching cycles to ensure the environment remains secure and up-to-date. Providing Tier 3 BAU (Business As Usual) support for end-user technologies, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, will also be part of your responsibilities. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively to ensure smooth operations. Maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, providing updates on patch releases, events, and new developments will be essential. You will keep all relevant parties informed about upgrades, changes, and technology trends. Logging and tracking activities in ServiceNow, ensuring detailed documentation of all patching activities and incidents, will be required. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive reports for ongoing projects and incidents. Additional knowledge of Dell Command and HP PolyLens device patching would be advantageous. The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years of experience in desktop engineering, specifically in patch management and software deployment. Proven experience with SCCM and JAMF for patching and software deployment is necessary. Strong knowledge in QA testing patches before organization-wide release is required. Hands-on experience with patching end-user technologies such as desktops, laptops, and mobile phones is essential. You should possess the ability to identify and manage cybersecurity vulnerabilities and collaborate effectively with the security team. Experience with Dell Command and HP PolyLens device patching is preferred. A strong understanding of ServiceNow for tracking and logging activities is crucial. Good communication skills, especially in providing updates and keeping the business informed, will be beneficial. This role requires the ability to work effectively during UK working hours.
