Position Summary
Design Engineer responsible for order execution of Twin Screw (2S) products. Plays a key role in ensuring on-time, quality deliverables, contributing to elimination of engineering queue time, tracker maintenance, knowledge documentation, and supporting cross-product workload. Executes orders independently for spares, simple, complex, and project variants of 2S pumps.
Job Duties
- Responsible for execution of 2S product orders.
- Maintaining ?95% Engineering Lead Time adherence with quality deliverables.
- Contribute towards elimination of Engineering Queue Time first for 2S product, then support other product lines.
- Start giving mails of order acceptance after internal review and input completeness.
- Ensure 100% complete inputs from Sales & Application Engineering before proceeding.
- On-time release of all assigned engineering orders (2S & then other products).
- Make OMC/PM accountable if EDWO is incomplete raise flag, do not accept order.
- Do not accept changes without Sales & Plant Head approval once order confirmation is provided.
- At the time of order release, raise flags on concern areas, first-time execution, or predictable production challenges.
- Maintain Engineering Load Chart sheet, internal trackers (where required), and Global Departmental tracker.
- Maintain OMC Tracker for all orders executed by self.
- Support generation of biweekly Engineering Status Report to Sales & Plant.
- Work towards implementation of improvement areas and new initiatives.
- Special attention self role: Execution of 2S spare, simple, complex & project-specific orders.
- Attend and support resolution of production issues; ensure corrective and preventive actions.
- During high workload in 3S & PCP product lines, support execution of 3S & PCP orders as per team need.
- Document learnings as internal standards; contribute to knowledge documentation and team growth.
- Without 100% input clarity mark order as HOLD. If no improvement observed in any area/department, escalate to higher level and make concerned team accountable.
- Ensure timely creation and closure of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to capture revisions, deviations, or design improvements as part of structured order execution.
Functional Skills & Knowledge
- Strong ownership in ETO system scope execution (skids, baseplate assemblies, seal systems).
- Strong understanding of Twin Screw pump engineering and execution process.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (Solid Edge), ERP (SAP), and PLM (ECTR).
- Familiarity with engineering standards (API, ASME, ASTM) and drafting practices (ASME Y14.5).
- Strong documentation, flagging, and tracker management discipline.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functionally and support team-level efficiency.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to workload changes, and contribute beyond assigned scope when required.
Education
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Skills
- 35+ years of experience in ETO / rotating equipment design, preferably PD pumps
- Hands-on exposure to order execution in a manufacturing environment
- Strong written and spoken communication; ability to follow structured process
- Growth-oriented, detail-driven, and committed to quality and on-time delivery
- Flexible to support cross-product engineering needs based on team priorities
