We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Basic Design Engineer with a strong background in the water and wastewater treatment industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing P&IDs, layouts, section GAs, foundation details, and RCC drawings. The role also involves active communication with clients, coordination with other disciplines, and ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in coordination with process and instrumentation teams. Develop and check layout drawings, sectional General Arrangements (GA), and equipment foundation drawings. Review and validate RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) drawings prepared by structural teams. Coordinate with other disciplines such as mechanical, civil, and electrical to ensure integrated design. Ensure timely and accurate checking and approval of engineering drawings as per project specifications and quality standards. Communicate with clients to gather inputs, clarify requirements, present solutions, and incorporate feedback. Support project planning and scheduling from the basic design perspective. Participate in design review meetings and ensure documentation compliance. Mentor and support junior engineers and CAD designers, ensuring consistent quality and output.

TD engineers (within the Energy Resources BU of Stantec), design, and deliver engineering projects primarily in transmission and distribution, power generation and substation sectors. They will also get engaged with OG, mining, and other heavy industrial process plants as and when required. A Career Level 3 engineer carries out engineering assignments of moderate to complex level. Under direct supervision and direction of a Lead / senior engineer, this role is responsible for a project or part of a project requiring knowledge of conceptual design, FEED / outline design, detailed design for transmission and distribution projects. The role requires supporting other engineers by performing the design assignments in coordination with other team members and ensure that project outcomes in terms of schedule, technical and quality standards etc., meet both the client and Stantec expectations. Key Accountabilities: Preparing plans, specifications, and design packages for transmission line projects. Producing technical presentations and design drawings. Perform detailed studies, prepare plans, transmission line modeling and design tasks associated with utilities or other types of projects, under the supervision of a regional lead / project engineer. Optioneering and outline design relating to Transmission Distribution and Industrial projects. Preparation of technical reports/ drawings sketches. Perform detailed design and engineering calculations of the overhead electric distribution systems to comply with the client s standards, specifications, preferences, and relevant industry standards (NESC, RUS, etc.) Guiding Engineering/ CAD team for quality delivery and ensure that Stantec Design Practices are followed. Perform self-check and QA/QC on projects before submittal to the client. Prepare cost estimates on engineering and construction packages. Develop a bill of material required for construction based on client standards. Develop permit drawings as necessary to accommodate construction. Capable to analyze, assess, evaluate the issues, complexity pertaining to projects / work packages and support the lead in mitigating them in advance. Knowledge of concrete and steel structures - analysis and design. Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor/management. Need to work off-hours for regional co-ordination: Occasionally.

Person Specifications: Relevant BE/diploma/ITI in Civil engineering. Experience of USA/ BS / Eurocode/ Australian detailing practices will be preferred Minimum experience of 4-8 years in reinforced concrete and steelwork detailing in buildings projects Understand the principles of engineering drawing conception and development Understand the company s drawing and design development procedures. Competent with 3D modelling and 2D drawings using REVIT structural, AutoCAD. CADSRC, Navisworks, MicroStation/ Open Building is a plus. Good interpersonal and communication skills Ability to rationalize drawings Knowledge of the general drawing requirements of a construction team Ability to communicate technical proposals clearly and to understand direction by others.
