Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Design Engineer - Solar PV Project located in Mumbai. The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing solar PV systems, creating detailed engineering drawings, and collaborating with the procurement and construction teams. The role includes conducting site assessments, performing technical analysis, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Design Engineer will also provide ongoing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license is highly desirable.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in designing of complete solar power plants.
• Proficiency in AUTOCAD, PVSYST, and other relevant tools
• Strong Understanding of solar energy systems and components.
• Knowledge of local, state, and central regulations related to solar energy and construction.
• Proficiency in Design Engineering and Product Design
• Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills
• Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor&aposs degree in Engineering or a related field
• Experience in the solar PV industry is compulsory

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

• AC/DC Single Line Diagrams, Technology selection for Solar PV plant.
• Pre-Bid Engineering as well as Detailed Design Engineering.
• Preparation of technical specifications for the complete AC and DC system, 11 kV, 33 kV, 66kV, 220 kV & 400 kV substation for all CTU/STU networks
• Optimum string/array configuration selection, metering, and protection SLD for switchyard, inverter sizing as per grid code requirements.
• MV and LV cable sizing calculations for AC and DC sides, transformer sizing calculations, relay setting calculations, and coordination.
• Earthing design & lightning protection calculation of switchyard and complete PV area, CT and PT sizing calculation.
• Switchyard layout and switchyard trench layout (33/132/220 kV), control cable schedule for switchyard, illumination design calculation, and layouts.
• Reviewing of HT switchgear, RMU, and ICOG panel drawings & documents, earthing layout of ICR, MC,R, and switchyard area.
• Overall cable routing/trench layout for complete AC &DC system, HT & LT cable schedules, preparation of equipment room layout, and trench layout for complete PV plant.
• Preparation of AC side auxiliary SLDs, reviewing, and selection of switchyard equipment.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate potential solar PV project sites.
• Deep Knowledge of topographical and geotechnical surveys to access the site conditions.
• Able to guide civil/mechanical design engineers about developing detailed civil designs for Solar PV systems, including foundations, layout, gradations, and structural support.
• Deep Knowledge of AUTOCAD, PVSyst, and other relevant tools.
• Prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and central regulations and standards.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase of projects.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Address and resolve any design-related issues that arise during construction.
