Design Engineer

As a Design & Development Engineer, your role will involve developing detailed 2D/3D CAD models and drawings for sheet metal and heavy fabrication components. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating designs that meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturability requirements. Additionally, you will need to optimize designs for cost, weight, and performance while ensuring structural integrity is maintained. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing detailed 2D/3D CAD models and drawings for sheet metal and heavy fabrication components - Conceptualizing and creating designs that meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturability requirements - Optimizing designs for cost, weight, and performance while maintaining structural integrity In terms of Technical Documentation, you will be expected to prepare and review technical drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and engineering change notices. It will be crucial for you to ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications. Your qualifications should include: - Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD modeling software - Strong understanding of sheet metal and heavy fabrication design principles - Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail As part of the Collaboration aspect of your role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement, to ensure seamless product development. You will also provide technical guidance and design insights for new proposals to support the sales and marketing team. When it comes to Problem-Solving, you will need to address and resolve design-related issues during the production and assembly phases. This will involve investigating and implementing solutions for design challenges such as stress, load distribution, and thermal considerations.
