Design Engineer-Electrical

• Produce Field Device Layouts and Emergency Stop layouts.

• Produce Electrical Schematics in accordance with Contract specifications and Local standards.

• Produce Motor Control Panel Layout drawings.

• Review Functional safety requirements.

• Undertake electrical design calculations.

• Establish Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) parameter sets.

• Write Tender Documents (MCP Build and Installation)

• Produce test and commissioning documentation.

• Compile Operation and Maintenance Manuals

Controls Project Management -

• Review Project and Contract documentation and sales pricing to establish areas of risk.

• Raise and close out Requests For Information where specification ambiguities occur.

• Assist in Motor Control Panel manufacture tenders and sub-contract builds to ensure quality, budgets and timelines are met.

• Assist the Project Managers in the electrical installation tender process, issuing technical, specifications and drawings and answering technical questions.

• Assist the Project Managers during the installation and commissioning phases of all projects (may require overseas travel)

• Understand and implement good document control processes on all projects.

Candidate Profile

• BE Electrical . Member of Institution of Engineers (India) MIE CEng (India). Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)

• A working knowledge of some or all the following are required -

• AutoCAD

• E-Plan

• MS Word

• MS Excel

• MS Access

• Visual Basic

• MS Project

• PLC Programming packages (Rockwell, Siemens and Omron preferred)

• SCADA packages

• Fluent in English, especially on technical matters.

• Demonstrate Electrical and Controls Design Experience.

• A good understanding of Variable Frequency Drives and motor control

• Demonstrate clear understanding of technical specifications.

• Capable of reading, understanding, and developing electrical circuits

• A working knowledge and understanding of the requirements of SP 30 or equivalent international wiring standards and regulations.

• Personal skills, competencies & knowledge kept up to date & identifying own & other staff training needs.

• Ability to work with commercially sensitive & confidential information excising the highest degree of discretion.
