Job Summary:

Costing & Budgeting Professional

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation & Analysis:

    • Develop detailed

      cost estimates for the construction stages

      of real estate development projects.
    • Analyse and interpret architectural drawings, structural designs, and tender documents to accurately assess material, labour, and overhead costs.
    • Benchmark project costs against industry standards and historical data to identify areas for optimization.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

    • Prepare comprehensive project budgets and cash flow forecasts, ensuring alignment with project timelines and financial objectives.
    • Monitor actual expenditures against approved budgets, identify variances, and provide detailed variance analysis reports to management.
    • Develop and implement effective cost control measures to mitigate cost risks and optimize project profitability.
    • Manage and update project budgets throughout the project lifecycle, accounting for changes and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify potential cost risks associated with project costs and budgets and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on cost performance and potential cost overruns.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering

    from a recognized institution is mandatory.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in costing & budgeting, or project control roles.

  • A minimum of

    5 years of this experience must be specifically within the Real Estate Development sector

    , holding similar or synergistic roles with direct exposure to project costing and budgeting.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and regulatory requirements in real estate.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
