Position: Textile Designer (Couture & Bridal Wear) at AFEPL Qualification: NIFT graduate (Textile Design/Fashion Design/Apparel Production preferred) Experience: 1–2 years (freshers with strong field interest can apply) Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma/degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Merchandising, or related field. Strong hand sketching and digital flat-drawing ability; portfolio demonstrating apparel concepts and finished looks. Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D, Textile Design, Sustainable Fashion Practices, Pattern Making, Fashion Sketching, Trend Analysis, Basic understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and trims; ability to create clear spec details. Excellent communication skills and ability to work remotely with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Work directly with artisan clusters on design development & product innovation Plan and execute festive & retail collections (sarees, kurta sets, dresses, co-ords, Bridal Lehenga, coats & blazers) Coordinate sampling, production timelines, and SKU planning Travel regularly to field sites, ensuring timely design interventions Bridge artisan craft skills with modern retail design needs Research trends + study the market to understand what’s next Create stories, moodboards and color palettes that capture the brand’s design philosophy Develop original print designs, elements, layouts, and unusual concepts Explore print concepts, colors and techniques that push boundaries while staying true to the brand Source fabrics, trims and materials to bring concepts alive. Apply knowledge of printing techniques to ensure designs translate seamlessly to fabrics Collaborate with sourcing team, CAD and khakha artists to make sure quality and timelines are met Contribute to the overall collection looks with innovative textile inputs Translate moodboards and trend direction into clear sketches, flats, and colour/story boards for seasonal ranges. Prepare accurate tech packs and spec sheets (measurements, construction notes, trim details) for vendors and internal teams. Create and maintain digital assets—Adobe Illustrator flats, Photoshop moodboards, and editable seasonal decks. Support sample development by communicating fit, construction, and fabric feedback with production partners. Conduct basic trend and competitor research to inform line planning and price-point decisions. Organise and present portfolio-ready work for reviews; maintain version control and asset libraries for the design team.
