Role & responsibilities Review and accurately assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for anaesthesia services and related procedures. Validate and audit provider documentation to ensure coding compliance with CMS, AMA, and payer-specific guidelines. Perform regular audits and quality checks to ensure coding accuracy and reduce claim denials. Collaborate with physicians, billers, and other team members to resolve documentation or coding discrepancies. Stay current with coding changes, payer updates, and compliance regulations in anaesthesia. Train and mentor junior coders, contributing to team growth and knowledge sharing. Preferred candidate profile Minimum of 3 years experience in anaesthesia coding. Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification required. In-depth knowledge of anaesthesia modifiers, time units, and surgical procedure coding. Strong understanding of federal/state regulations, payer guidelines, and medical terminology. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience in RCM workflows , coding audits, and denial management. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and coding software. Ability to handle a high-volume workload with precision and efficiency.
