Job Summary: This position is responsible for fabrication and welding inspections, procedures & documentation as per ASME SEC IX / AWS D1.1 / AWS D1.6 for customers in oil & gas, defense & aerospace industries and to implement process improvements. The fabrication jobs will be for structures, pipes, tubes and pressure vessels as the company expands its operations Role & responsibilities Conduct fabrication & weld inspections including NDT & dry surveys of structural & pipe fabrication jobs based on the production drawings and governing specifications. Carryout PQR and develop WPS for required jobs. Carry our WPQ for welders. Develop weld sequence and weld maps for fabrication jobs. Maintain welding machines and other equipment required for welding. Assess the competencies of welders, identify the gaps and hand hold them to improve productivity. Maintain welders records. Project suitable welding consumable requirement based on production schedule and monitor/ analyze consumption. Carryout surface preparation & coating inspections. Prepare and maintain all documentation as required for ISO 9001 / API / AS9100D QMS and as required for customers. Undertake continual improvements of fabrication & welding methodology / procedures for quality assurance and to improve productivity. Create and maintain ISO 9001 documents and improve the quality management system. Establish manufacturing capabilities for structural, pipe and tube fabrication. Establish fabrication capabilities to manufacture ASME certified pressure vessels Establish day to day operating and reporting procedures and processes. Establish KPIs and monitor performance. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of structural, pipe & pressure vessel fabrication. Knowledge of weld metallurgy, welding equipment and various welding processes and procedures (GMAW/FCAW/GTAW/SMAW/SAW). Knowledge of ASME SEC IX, AWS D1.1, AWS D1.6. Knowledge of weld methodology & sequence to control distortion. Knowledge of fabrication and welding inspection procedures and documentation. Knowledge of HSE rules. Knowledge of MS Word & Excel. Ability to work independently yet efficiently. Strong analytical and decision-making ability. Able to work under stress and meet deadlines. Ability to work on multifunction teams and multi-task. Good written & oral communication skills in English. Ability to speak Hindi and Telugu.
