Qualifications (As per UGC Norms)

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from a recognized university
• Minimum 10 years of teaching and/or research experience in higher education / research institutions
• Significant research publications in peer-reviewed / UGC CARE-listed journals
• Experience in:
• Research project management
• Funded projects and grants
• Academic or research administration (desirable)

Roles and Responsibilities

A. Research Policy & Governance

• Formulate and implement the University Research & Innovation Policy
• Establish and monitor research ethics, integrity, and plagiarism regulations
• Chair or coordinate Research Advisory / Ethics Committees

B. Research Promotion & Development

• Promote a strong research culture across all faculties
• Facilitate submission and execution of funded research projects (UGC, DST, ICSSR, AICTE, ICMR, etc.)
• Encourage interdisciplinary and collaborative research

C. Innovation, IPR & Entrepreneurship

• Promote innovation, incubation, start-ups, and entrepreneurship
• Oversee:
• IPR Cell
• Incubation / Innovation Centers
• Patent filing, copyrights, and technology transfer
• Facilitate industry-academia collaboration

D. Research Degrees & Regulations

• Ensure compliance with UGC Regulations for M.Phil./Ph.D. (as applicable)
• Oversee:
• Admission of research scholars
• Supervisor recognition
• Progress monitoring and evaluation
• Ensure ethical conduct of research

E. Capacity Building

• Organize:
• Research methodology workshops
• FDPs and orientation programs
• Training on grant writing and IPR
• Mentor early-career researchers and faculty

F. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Monitor research output:
• Publications
• Citations
• Patents
• Consultancy revenue
• Prepare annual research reports
• Support NAAC, NIRF, AISHE, and accreditation documentation

G. Budget & Resource Management

• Recommend and monitor research budgets and grants utilization
• Ensure transparency and compliance with funding agency norms

5. Powers & Functions

• Recommend research supervisors and examiners
• Approve research proposals as per delegated authority
• Represent the University in research forums and funding agencies

6. Tenure

• As per UGC / University Statutes (generally 3 years, extendable)

7. Desired Competencies

• Strong research leadership and strategic planning ability
• Knowledge of UGC, NEP-2020, and national research frameworks
• Experience in innovation, IPR, and project management
• Ethical leadership and academic integrity

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
