We are looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team in Mohali, India. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems for stainless steel bioprocess equipment. This includes bioreactors, fermenters, and ultrafiltration systems. Ideally, you should have 2-4 years of experience in automation and instrumentation engineering with a focus on system optimization, troubleshooting, and compliance with industry standards. Your key responsibilities will include programming and integration tasks such as developing control logic, sequencing, PID loops, and recipe control for fermentation and filtration processes. You will also be writing, debugging, and maintaining PLC and HMI programs. Additionally, you will integrate automation systems with SCADA systems, implement alarm handling, batch control, interlocks, and process safety features. Furthermore, you will assist in designing and developing automation systems for bioprocess equipment using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and DCS platforms. You will specify and select appropriate sensors, transmitters, actuators, and control valves. Moreover, you will supervise the installation, calibration, and maintenance of process instruments and sensors. Collaboration is key in this role as you will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams to execute projects on time and within budget. You will provide technical inputs during product design, equipment development, and factory acceptance testing. Travel to customer sites for site acceptance tests and installation visits may be required. To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Along with 2-4 years of experience in automation and instrumentation engineering, preferably in the bioprocess or pharmaceutical industry. Skills required include knowledge of PLC programming, HMI, SCADA systems, and DCS, as well as a strong understanding of instrumentation and control systems. Handle the manpower in the section involving the contract workers. Follow instructions from the supervisory staff quickly and precisely in the shifts. Perform all the washing or cleaning functions as per requirements, ensuring the machines are clean and ready to begin operations. To ensure the equipment is clean and the surrounding area near the section is also kept clean at all times. Warning signals and alarms are to be discussed with the immediate supervisor and corrective action is to be taken. Regulate or turn off machines in emergency situations and immediately report to the immediate supervisor. Report to the manager with all the issues faced in his shift. Should maintain the documentation like production log book/maintenance log book/ Quality related issues in his shift. Follow the Health and Safety policies laid down by the company at all times to prevent injury. Follow the Food Safety regulations and policies of the company. Reporting to the DCS Engineer/Shift Officer.
