Job Purpose: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center (DC) Operations Engineer to join our IT Services team. The role involves managing day-to-day data center operations, server and storage hardware support, Linux and VMware administration, and ensuring high service delivery standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong hands-on technical background in data center hardware, Linux systems, and virtualization platforms, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues efficiently. Role Responsibilities Perform on-site and/or remote installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of: VMware environments SUSE Linux, Ubuntu, and Unix/Linux/Windows servers Clustered Linux systems (SUSE Linux Clustering) Dell/HP server hardware and storage Desktops and end-user devices (Windows 10/11, Mac OS, Ubuntu) Manage and perform OS patching and server maintenance tasks. Perform Active Directory user and group management. Handle daily operational tasks within the data center including BIOS/firmware upgrades, vendor coordination, and hardware issue resolution. Provide Level 2/3 support for escalated IT incidents from the service desk. Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain backup operations and restore processes. Support asset tracking, inventory management, and operational documentation. Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE/BTech) from a reputed institution. Preferences Hands-on experience with: Linux (SUSE, Ubuntu), Unix, Windows Server VMware ESXi and vSphere Wintel and Storage Environments Certifications preferred: MCP, MCSE, RHCSA/RHCE, Network+, or equivalent ITIL v3 Foundation Familiarity with ticketing and ITSM systems. Experience in asset and inventory management.
