We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team on a Contract to Hire basis in a reputed MNC. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, and JCL, and will be capable of working on both development and maintenance projects within the banking domain. Role & responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications primarily using COBOL, DB2, and JCL. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions effectively. Demonstrate strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) following Agile methodologies. Ensure high-quality coding standards and perform unit testing. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Adapt to changing project needs and priorities, showing flexibility in assignments. Knowledge of corporate banking processes will be an added advantage. Mandatory Skills: Experience Required: 7 to 10 years (with 5+ years relevant experience in Mainframe development) Domain : Banking (Corporate Banking preferred) Strong programming experience in COBOL Good hands-on experience with DB2 databases Proficient in JCL for batch job control Preferred Skills: Exposure to Agile development processes. Understanding of Corporate Banking domain. Experience working in large-scale mainframe environments. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting. Flexibility to work on both development and maintenance projects.

Administer and manage DB2 databases with Linux,Unix,windowes, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. - Install, configure, and maintain DB2 databases in production and non-production environments. - Perform database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery processes. - Monitor database performance and optimize queries for better performance. - Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime. - Implement security measures such as access control, encryption, and auditing. - Work with development teams to design and optimize database schemas, indexes, and queries. - Conduct regular database health checks and tuning. - Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to DB2 systems. - Provide on-call support and ensure adherence to SLAs. - Prepare and maintain database documentation, including architecture, design, and best practices. - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP, cGMP, etc.) in database management

Database Migration & Upgrades: Manage and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patches. Perform version control and ensure compatibility of databases with the latest DB2 versions. Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, failures, and query issues. Provide 24/7 support for critical database systems. Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize application and database performance. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and best practices. Compliance and Security: Ensure that databases are compliant with relevant laws, policies, and security standards. Implement database encryption, audit logging, and other security measures to protect sensitive data. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a DB2 Database Administrator. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with DB2 LUW (Linux, UNIX, Windows). Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and problem-solving. Strong experience with backup and recovery strategies and tools. Familiarity with DB2 High Availability (HADR) and DB2 clustering. Excellent understanding of SQL and stored procedures. Knowledge of DB2 security, user roles, and access control. Work Mode: Hybrid Shift Timing: UK Shift 1.00 PM to 10 PM ( 2 Way cab Facility)
