We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team on a Contract to Hire basis in a reputed MNC. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, and JCL, and will be capable of working on both development and maintenance projects within the banking domain. Role & responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications primarily using COBOL, DB2, and JCL. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions effectively. Demonstrate strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) following Agile methodologies. Ensure high-quality coding standards and perform unit testing. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Adapt to changing project needs and priorities, showing flexibility in assignments. Knowledge of corporate banking processes will be an added advantage. Mandatory Skills: Experience Required: 7 to 10 years (with 5+ years relevant experience in Mainframe development) Domain : Banking (Corporate Banking preferred) Strong programming experience in COBOL Good hands-on experience with DB2 databases Proficient in JCL for batch job control Preferred Skills: Exposure to Agile development processes. Understanding of Corporate Banking domain. Experience working in large-scale mainframe environments. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting. Flexibility to work on both development and maintenance projects.
