Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the organization's databases. This role entails designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to ensure data integrity, security, and availability. You will play a crucial role in optimizing database performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other IT teams to support various applications and projects. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database systems on AIX, Linux, and Windows platforms. - Monitor and manage database performance, capacity, and health to ensure optimal functionality and availability while addressing potential security breaches. - Perform regular backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard critical data. - Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls and data encryption, to protect sensitive information. - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and tune database configurations to enhance system performance. - Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. - Prepare regular reports on database performance, growth, and capacity planning. - Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of failures within security policies and standards to comply with relevant regulations and best practices. Requirements: - 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with specific expertise in DB2 on Linux platforms. - 3+ years of experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and monitoring tasks. - Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience. Preferred Qualifications: - DB2 experience with Windows and AIX platforms. - Experience with other database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) and platforms. - Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database). - Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware). - Experience with database clustering and high availability solutions. Job Description: As a Database Administrator at our Tech-Support department, you will play a crucial role in setting up, configuring, administering, and maintaining various production and development environments.
