Job Description

As an Associate Database Administrator at NTT DATA, you will be an entry-level subject matter expert responsible for assisting in various daily database administration tasks. Your role will involve tasks such as database monitoring, backup and recovery, user management, and data maintenance. You will work closely with other teams including Change Control, Release Management, Asset and Configuration Management, and Capacity and Availability Management to meet the needs of users and ensure the security of the database systems. Your key responsibilities will include assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or others as required. You will collaborate with software developers and architects to design and optimize database schemas and data models. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring database performance, optimizing queries, and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies. Furthermore, you will work on database software upgrades, security measures, data integrity, and data consistency. You will also conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and provide technical support to end-users. Effective communication and collaboration skills will be essential as you work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support database-related initiatives. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as MCSE DBA, Oracle Certified Professional, or others are preferred. Entry-level experience in database administration, backup and recovery practices, and working with databases like Oracle Enterprise and Microsoft SQL Server is required.
