Job Title: Senior PostgreSQL Developer Location: Bangalore / Gurugram, India Experience: Minimum 6 years Employment Type: Full-time About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Developer with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in database development and optimization. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance PostgreSQL databases that are critical to our business operations. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize complex PostgreSQL queries, functions, and stored procedures. Create and maintain database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and triggers. Analyze performance issues and tune queries for optimal execution. Collaborate with application developers to ensure seamless integration of the database with backend services. Implement and maintain database security, backup strategies, and disaster recovery procedures. Monitor database health and troubleshoot issues related to performance, reliability, and availability. Participate in data modeling and architecture planning for new projects. Document database structures, procedures, and processes. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 6 years of experience in PostgreSQL database development and administration. Strong SQL skills and experience with query optimization and performance tuning. Experience with PostgreSQL-specific features like window functions, CTEs, JSONB, and PL/pgSQL. Hands-on experience with data migration, ETL processes, and data integration. Solid understanding of relational database design and data modeling. Familiarity with tools like pgAdmin, psql, and PostgreSQL monitoring tools. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Good to Have: Knowledge of other RDBMS like MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, etc.). Scripting knowledge in Python, Shell, or similar.
