Data Scientist - Treasury Research Labs

Role Overview: As a Data Scientist at Barclays Treasury Research Labs, your main purpose will be to utilize innovative data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves. You will leverage these insights to inform strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organization. Your responsibilities will include identifying, collecting, and extracting data from various sources, performing data cleaning and transformation, developing and maintaining efficient data pipelines, designing and conducting statistical and machine learning models, and collaborating with business stakeholders to add value through Data Science. Key Responsibilities: - Identify, collect, and extract data from internal and external sources. - Perform data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure data quality. - Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing. - Design and conduct statistical and machine learning models to analyze patterns and trends. - Develop and implement predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify risks and opportunities. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to add value through Data Science. Qualifications Required: - Undergraduate or equivalent degree, preferably in a numerical discipline. - Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) and ML frameworks/tools (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow). - Proficiency in SQL for querying databases and rapid prototyping. - Deep understanding of machine learning and data mining principles. - Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas to a diverse audience.
