Description
As a Data Quality (DQ) Engineer at Astellas Pharma Inc. in Bengaluru, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of data within key systems. Your responsibilities will include implementing data quality business rules, conducting DQ analysis, and remediation activities. Here are the key responsibilities you will be handling: - Participate in creating data quality checks and standards for multiple source systems. - Implement business data quality checks on the SaaS platform (E.g. Databricks) in collaboration with business teams and data lake teams. - Perform unit testing, test-driven development (TDD), and test scripts execution to ensure data accuracy and consistency. - Collaborate with external vendors and partners to optimize data quality services. - Identify, document, and track DQ violations and defects, working with development teams to resolve issues. - Define, monitor, and report on Data Quality metrics. - Lead investigations to analyze data quality issues and determine business impact. - Provide post-release support related to Data Quality problems, workflows, and DQ batch job runs. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will also be involved in the following tasks: - Assist and coordinate with data lake teams to automate and monitor data quality processes. - Enforce data governance and information management policies to manage clinical and product data securely. - Improve the delivery of complex DQ projects by implementing standard processes and tools. - Mentor analysts and provide ad-hoc analysis and reports on data quality and integrity. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Data Science, Business, Finance, or related field. - 5+ years of relevant experience in data quality management within the healthcare industry. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Experience with cloud-based platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across teams. - Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data quality monitoring across different stages of data pipelines. Preferred qualifications for this role include: - Masters degree in Finance, Business, or Information Management. - Experience in the Life Sciences industry and understanding of clinical trial processes. - Proficiency in SQL and data quality tools like Talend, Databricks, or Informatica Data Quality. - Knowledge of integration solutions platforms such as Talend and Databricks. - Proficiency in Tableau or Qlik dashboards.
